It' seems like it's been such a long time since I've been able to write. My life has certainly been full lately not only with school (though if you were around you would probably think so), but also developing really good friendships, and being part of a church plant that hasn't quite launched yet; it's been a process of faith and seeking truth, challenging the weaknesses in me of discipline and focus, restraint, and developing new passions, ideas, and understandings of God. There is no way to document the journey, though at times I wish I could just so that I could look back, but maybe as I learn these new things will become a part of me, and independently they are meant just as contributions to the greater story of my Life.
I have to get some more reading done by this afternoon, so I'll try to write later this weekend. Before I am finished though I thought I'd give Patrick a little credit for his creativity.
I have about 300 pages of theory to read per day. Books filled with sentences like, "The being that is properly whatever is able to not-be; it is capable of its own impotence," (Giorgio Agamben). This is me at my desk:
Then one day (yesterday) Patrick decided to get me a gift. He came home with a gadget that has kept me eagerly reading and underlining for the past day. Meet my new pen (it lights up!):
